What is EVA Foam
EVA stands for ethylene-vinyl acetate, a closed-cell foam that's known for being durable, lightweight, and shock-absorbent. It's a popular material for boat decking because it's also non-skid, water-resistant, and resistant to UV rays, chemicals, and stains.Â

How do I care for my EVA foam decking?
- Cleaning:Â Rinse your EVA foam decking regularly with fresh water and a mild soap.
- Protection:Â Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on your EVA foam decking. Windex and a soft bristled brush are recommended. Always brush WITH the grain, not against it.
- Our foam is weather resistant to most conditions, however, to protect longevity, it is best to keep foam covered and away from the elements when it is not being used.

How long will EVA foam decking last?
EVA foam decking is known for its durability and longevity, but its lifespan can vary depending on several factors:
- Installation Quality:Â Proper installation is crucial for longevity. A professional installation ensures a secure bond and prevents premature wear and tear.
- Usage and Exposure:Â Â The amount of foot traffic, exposure to sunlight, exposure to water, and contact with harsh chemicals can affect the lifespan. Â Regular cleaning and maintenance can help prolong its life.
- Climate and Storage:Â Â Harsh weather conditions and improper storage can accelerate wear and tear. Covering your boat or storing it indoors during the off-season can help protect the EVA foam.
General Expectations:
With proper care and maintenance, EVA foam decking can last for 5 to 10 years or even longer. However, it's important to remember that it's not indestructible. Over time, some fading or minor wear may occur, especially in high-traffic areas.
