What is EVA Foam
EVA stands for ethylene-vinyl acetate, a closed-cell foam that's known for being durable, lightweight, and shock-absorbent.
It's a popular material for boat decking because it's non-skid, water-resistant, and resistant to UV rays, chemicals, and most stains. We love it on more things than just boats though, as you may know by now!
Our favorite thing about EVA foam is that it is fully customizable, which means YOU get to make your adventure your own! Whether it's a boat, cooler topper, speaker shell, step pad, or anything else you want to stick it on, we help you customize our EVA foam to YOU.
How do I install EVA foam?

How do I care for my EVA foam?
- Cleaning: Rinse your EVA foam regularly with fresh water and a mild soap.
- Protection: Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on your EVA foam decking. Windex and a soft bristled brush are recommended. Always brush WITH the foam's grain, not against it.
- Our foam is weather resistant to most conditions, however, to protect longevity, it is best to keep foam covered and out of elements when it is not being used.

How long will EVA foam decking last?
EVA foam decking is known for its durability and longevity, but its lifespan can vary depending on several factors:
- Installation Quality: Proper installation is crucial for longevity. A professional installation ensures a secure bond and prevents premature wear and tear.
- Usage and Exposure: The amount of foot traffic, exposure to sunlight, exposure to water, and contact with harsh chemicals can affect the lifespan. Regular cleaning and maintenance can help prolong its life.
- Climate and Storage: Harsh weather conditions and improper storage can accelerate wear and tear. Covering your boat or storing it indoors during the off-season can help protect the EVA foam.
General Expectations:
With proper care and maintenance, EVA foam decking can last for 5 to 10 years or even longer. However, it's important to remember that it's not indestructible. Over time, some fading or minor wear may occur, especially in high-traffic areas.

What is an Art Proof and Why Do I Need It?
An Art Proof is a crucial step in our custom design process!
An Art Proof is a digital rendering and technical drawing you receive after placing a custom order with Motion Marine Customs.
It serves as the final confirmation before we begin production, allowing you to visually review all aspects of your design, including:
- Color Layers: The exact colors selected for your top and bottom layers. (See the legend in the top left corner of the proof.)
- Design and Layout: The placement, sizing, and details of all routed text and laser-etched graphics.
- Dimensions: The overall shape and fit of the product for your specific application.
Important Details About Your Art Proof:
- Required for Production: EVERY custom order will receive an art proof. Production does not begin until you have formally approved the design.
- Delivery: Your Art Proof will be delivered to the email address on file, or via text.
- Review and Approval: Please review every detail carefully! If you need any changes, let us know right away. Once approved, we move directly to manufacturing.
